The beautifully vibrant paddy fields.
The only way to get around Hoi An is by bicycle.
Trying to catch his tea.
The vibrant colours in the market were just amazing!
Fitting in with the locals, they were so heavy!!
Morning stroll along the beach. Believe it or it it was packed out but if you take a 10 minute stroll up the beach you can have it all to yourself!!
When we were out cycling we met a lady who guided us to coconut island where she proceeded to convince us to take a boat ride through the groves. Once we said yes she then went to get his elderly mother who took us out in a boat. She pulled into the groves, pulled off a leaf & proceded to make us rings, bracelets, hats & even glasses!!! We then had a go at crab fishing. She successfully caught 3 & Josh caught one but it wriggled off before he got it in the boat!!
Time for a refreshing coconut after all that boating!
Such a pretty, traditional, quaint little place.
If you want to see the real Hoi An you buy a tourist ticket which gives you access to 5 different venues or attractions. We chose some traditional homes, a couple of museums and a traditional Vietnamese show. The homes were beautifully presented but do appear to be shops in disguise!!
Joshua making a wish with a lantern he released onto the river.
This was a traditional game where a terracotta pot is hung up, you are given a baton & a mask to cover your eyes. You then needed to walk forward & try to break the hanging pot. Josh had a go but wasn't successful!!! All good fun though!
Hoi An is such a pretty little place which with its traditional buildings & boats, visitor attractions and traditional dress transports you to the real Vietmnam. Definitely worth a few days of a Vietnam tour.
