The water here was so cold here but extremely clear.  Beyond the rocks at the far side is another swimming area.  This place can get so busy that they have a cap on swimmers and once it's full you need to be patient and wait for someone to leave.  Everyone signs in & out with a park ranger.  We were very lucky as it wasn't very busy & at one point we had the whole place to ourselves.  There is a cafe en route by the pretty pink salt flats which also hires out snorkels.

Tortuga Bay is a 40/50 minute walk along a structured pathway.  The path brings you to the first beach which has very strong waves & currents. A short walk along this beach brings you to a second beach which is a beautiful calm with clear waters.  There are wooden coat stands situated along the beach which are there to discourage you from using the trees!  There are also small wooden driftwood benches located under the shade of the trees.  There are snorkels & kayaks available for hire but no shops for snacks or drinks!!

                       Shark Attack!!!!!!

We enjoyed our chill out few days in this sleepy town.  It has many bars, restaurants, shops & booking offices for day trips to various islands.  We had a nightly stroll down to the harbour to view the fish, black tip sharks, rays & pelicans.  Time for the highlight now, an 8 day cruise around the islands on the beautiful Nemo 3!
