Bangkok's answer to Central Park. It was huge and beautifully cared for. We saw umpteen employees pruning, digging, grass cutting, sweeping, watering and coconut harvesting! They even had security guards on the gates. Not sure if they were there to ensure law abiding citizens or for protection from the Thai Lizard! We spotted three of these lizards and they were pretty big. They did have little legs but I wouldn't like to test out how fast they can run after you! It used to be a golf course so has many water features and little nooks to enjoy a picnic.
It's great for kids also as we found four parks & outdoor gyms and spotted a couple more in the distance. There was even a cycle circuit for kids with roundabouts and real working traffic lights.
The park proved very popular with the locals on Valentine's Day. The paths were crowded with cycling couples with the lady on a seat at the back of the bike being driven around by her man!!
We even found some fish to feed.
The park even comes with a large butterfly enclosure and we got in for free!
A beautiful park for a stroll or a cycle on a sunny afternoon or some sunbathing and a picnic. We were very lucky to have this just a 5 minute walk from our apartment. It provided some nice fresh air away from the hustle & bustle of the city.
