Australia Day 2016

Our first port of call was the Harbour Bridge to watch all the excitement from above.  Josh thought it would be the best view & I have to agree with him.  I really thought it would be packed out but we got a great spot & had plenty of space!

These two show the ferry race.  The harbour was packed out with so many boats.

The two below show the yacht ballet.  Yes I tell no lies.  It doesn't look too impressive but it really was.  The music was blasting over the harbour & the yachts were so in sync it was a pleasure to watch.

This was one of the flyovers.  We saw Russian Roulettes & Red Berets.  Josh loved this especially when they trailed different colours of smoke & when they flew right over our heads.

We had some excellent entertainment on the floating stages.

The Tall Ship race was quite spectacular, they floated gracefully past us & under the bridge and the winning ship fired its cannons to mark the end!!

Parachuters dropping in on the celebrations!!!

The above is our local park Barangaroo where there was an open air concert with acts including the runner up & the winner of the Australian Voice!

The sun went down & it was time for the night time spectacular.  Another concert, held on the steps of the Opera House and to finish off some fantastic fireworks.  We had a very tiring day, we were out from 10am-10pm but we had a great day and feel very lucky to be a part of the celebrations!

Thanks Sydney for a memory that I'm sure Josh & I will remember forever!!!!!
