Cycling in Sydney

Josh & I hired a couple of bikes from Bonza Bikes.  Josh has wanted to cycle over the bridge since we arrived.  It was another glorious day in the city so off we went on another adventure.  You can only cycle on one side of the bridge as the other side is just for pedestrians, there are security guards at both ends as well as in the middle to ensure everyone abides by the rules!!!!  Both sections are separated from the cars & trains by a large fence so are both very safe.

We set off to the Observatory which is opposite the entrance onto the cycle path of the bridge.

We had the whole bridge to ourselves for most of the journey o stopping to take pictures was no problem!!!

To the left in this picture is our neighbourhood!

Luna park. Sydney's longstanding theme park!

Down the other side of the bridge.

The city view on the opposite shore including a huge cruise ship!!

Sydney Botanical Gardens

HJust a stones throw from Sydney Opera House is the beautiful Botanical gardens.  The gardens are celebrating their 200th year in 2016!  It is a very large green space just a 5 minute walk from the hustle & bustle of the city business district.

Josh looking out for the fish & eels!!!!

                       Some great rocks for climbing.

The Botanical gardens run along the waterfront so there is a great view of the bridge & the Opera House!

The gardens are used during the week by the locals at lunchtime for a picnic or a lunchtime run or keep fit session.

It's also full of some impressive birds!

There are some great trees for climbing too!!!

We spent a good 2 hours wandering through the gardens & I think we only covered half of it.  It is split into many sections with millions of different species of trees, plants & flowers.  A gardeners paradise!  A great place for a wander or a picnic.  There are always plenty of people watching opportunities or you can sit nearer the water & watch the boats, ferries & sometimes cruise ships pass by.

Sydney Lego Exhibition @ Museum of Sydney

It was a cold & rainy day in Sydney, yes it was, after being promised sunshine for 12+ months you can imagine we were a little disappointed at this!!!!!!

So Josh & I headed up the road to the Museum of Sydney which we had visited previously.  Josh chose this because there was a Lego Exhibition on. When we got there we had to book a 2hr time slot so had a half hour to browse through the museum once more.

These are some of the impressive builds they had on display and a couple of our creations!!! I'm sure it won't be hard to guess which is which! Our time slot started at 2pm & we finally got kicked out about 5.30pm!!!! Oops!!!! Fab afternoon was had by both!!!!

Yes it was this BIG!!!!!
